Oh the amazing Bettie Page. Forever a classic. Here's a lovely rare photo, not only in color, but a much more revealing pose than usual. (Small historic note: Because of the Comstock Law, any material shipped through the US Mail deemed "obscene" could be confiscated and prosecuted in court.) Playboy, for example, never showed pubic hair in the 50s and early 60s, because revealing a woman's most intimate parts was seen as clearly lewd.
This lovely image not only show's Bettie's womanly parts, but has a gentle, almost tender mood that is far from her silly, smiling whips and ropes and stiletto heels that became part of her icon.
