I was too young to catch Gilligan's Island when it originally aired from 1964-67, but I was one of the millions of kids who watched after school reruns in the '70s and '80s.
When the show was first conceived, Ginger, the knockout redhead movie star (modeled after Marylyn Monroe), was supposed to be the sexy one--but for me the real hottie was the cutie from Kansas Mary Ann.
Apparently, I wasn't alone. Mary Ann was the mot popular character on the series, and the actress who played her, Dawn Wells, received 3-5,000 fan letters a week.
Some of these images are real, and some the work of clever internet fakesters. You can try to pick out which is which, or just enjoy, and let yourself fantasize about the Girl-Next-Door castaway on the uncharted desert isle.

Sweet pics, even if they're photoshopped. Interesting fact: the actress who played Ginger -- Tina Louise -- had actually been a Playboy Playmate back in 1962. My Dad had that issue hidden in his dresser chest, and believe me, it got a workout once I found it. Quite a few messes were made looking at her naked. Glad to have some pix of Mary Ann now, even this late in life...

Ms Wells Wells runs a successful business including baking and won a top notch for Nabisco!
Her best one of attributes is being lady like and darn pretty!!
In 1964 she was a model page lady for rising as a model example of Nevada well and pretty again for Ms America!!
The day she signed with Nabisco she "Larry Rosen married with two great offspring!!
One reason I find her looks truly American is her manor!
I trust this lady someday I can meet!
