En Mexico

One year, in the fall, Jennifer and I travelled to Mexico. The town of Guanajato is tucked up in the mountains, carved into them, really. There are tunnels, and the streets are narrow and twisting. It is so steep that you can be in one building, on the second or third floor, and looking down on the four-story building on the downhill side.

We stayed in a small, but clean and comfortable room. It had tile floors, a bed, a chair, and a narrow French window that opened to a tiny balcony with a cast-iron railing. After a week of traveling, we needed to wash clothes. We washed them in the sink, and hung them to dry.

With all our clothing wet, we had to wait, naked. Since we couldn't go out on the streets, the only thing to do was stay in the room and have sex. It was a wonderful vacation.
