Marge Monday: Naked Bike Ride
In honor of the Portland Naked Bike Ride coming up June 16th, we present this fantastic image of Homer and Marge embracing a naked bike ride of their own. Springfield.
The motto for the World Naked Bike Ride is "bare as you dare," and Homer and Marge are a great inspiration. So everyone who has a WNBR in your community, go out and participate! If you don't have one in your community, start organizing.
A naked bike ride is truly one of the most thrilling and invigorating things you can do.

The Pond
The pond was usually secluded, a perfect place to skinny dip. Especially on a hot summer day. Occasionally, a biker would pass. They'd rarely glance over and notice.
Once the girls were in the water, no one would know that they were skinny dipping. Getting in and getting out, those were the times they could get caught. But it was worth it.

Bike Change
Not sure what's going on here. Is she taking off her panties? On a dare? Is she feeling sexy? Or does she have to pee? Or is she slipping her panties back on, after a pee, or maybe after a quickie? The only thing really clear is that she's half way in or out of her sexy green thong, outdoors, with her mountain bike. Something sexy is in the process of happening. We love it when an image implies a story.

Bike Bottomless on Beach
She was on vacation, making a road trip from Portland down to Northern California to check out the Redwoods. She had never been. She assumed the Redwoods would be packed with tourists, and in some parts, they were, but the forest also stretched 100s of miles, and if you got on side roads, and then forest roads, you could be totally alone. She had her mountain bike, which let her get farther than the tourists in the parking lots and visitor centers.
More than once, she got out a ways to herself, felt warm from the sun and the light exercise, and decided to peel off her shorts. The bike seat was smooth and slippery compared to the chaffing of her clothes. She loved the pressure and rubbing on her clit. She could make herself cum on a bike seat. Something she'd discovered when she was much younger, but something she didn't have many occasions to practice and enjoy.

PDX--World Naked Bike Ride 2010!
Portland, Oregon, might have set a new world record this past Saturday, when an estimated 14,000 people grabbed their bikes and stripped off their clothes for the annual Naked Bike Ride.
Thousands more lined the streets, cheering. People who watched say it took about 30-40 minutes for all the riders to pass by. At each intersection along the route, police blocked traffic. Some waved, some smirked. Some folks along the route stripped naked in solidarity. Many flashed cameras, and texted friends that they'd just seen more bare butts and boobs than they'd ever seen in their lives.
It was truly a memorable event, a new world record, and for yours truly, a new life experience.

THE WOMEN OF THE DEEP BLUE SEA
The women in the office all dared each other to do the city's famous annual naked bike ride. Peer pressure, and blue paint, helped steady their resolve.
They picked a theme: Little Mermaid, Under the Sea. They were giddy, but terrified when they put on the body paint in the morning, but after the ride, they were truly jubilant. Although they would normally consider themselves self-confident, strong, and adventurous women, getting naked and riding through their town in nothing but blue paint and tennis shoes was pushing all of their personal comfort zones.
When it was all done, they celebrated their victory together, not the accomplishment of the ride, but of riding past their inhibitions, their fears, and the inner voice that said, "stay in the comfortable and familiar, be safe, be good, do what you're told, don't break rules." For some, their were deeper voices, darker ones that had told them for years: "you're not pretty enough, you're body is bad, you should be ashamed, cover yourself." Being naked was a physical act, but the reward was an emotion: joy, and pride, and strength. On that day, all the negative inner-voices were silenced, replaced with a single affirmation: we did it.

RIDE NAKED!
The very first two-wheel, “petal-pushed” bicycle made its world debut in 1817, but the basic bicycle as we know it hit its stride in the 1890s “Golden Age of Bicycles.” The first chain-driven bicycle was developed around 1885 and a few years later air-filled tires and coaster brakes were added. Bicycling became both a popular pastime, as well as a practical form of commuting. Just as skinny dipping was a common form of swimming in rural lakes and streams at the turn of the century, no doubt some adventurous folks hopped on their bikes in the buff. Surprisingly, there is no real record of organized naked biking until a century later.
Organized naked bike rides seem to have taken off in 2001. In Spain, a naked bike ride was celebrated in Zaragoza, and naked riders joined the Fremont Summer Solstice Parade in Seattle. Naked riders have joined up with Critical Mass across the US, and other annual rides in Europe. Although there’s an “official” World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) website, the overall trend of naked bike rides seems to be a grassroots movement. Commonalities between naked bikers are colorful body paint, creative costumes, and sometimes decorated bikes. Underlying the public nudity is not so much a united protest against gasoline vehicles, or against the often hypocritical and sexist indecency laws; in the color and show, seems to be a statement against as a celebration pro-bike traffic, pro-green energy, pro-healthy living, and the simple right to be in the buff. Otherwise, it seems to truly be a free-for-all, with only one guiding motto: "Bare As You Dare.”

For the past several years, my hometown has held an annual naked bike ride. I have never gone, because it seemed naked bikers were, actually, rather unsexy. Now, looking at images around the world and learning more about public nudity laws and just how conservative we’ve become as a culture, I am pro nude bikers. They make our streets a little more colorful, a little more fun, and—most importantly of all—a little more free. What a true democracy that we live in when protest can be non-violent, and naked.
Here’s to a second “Golden Age of Bicycles.”
