Lauren Bacall's Screen Test
Here are two amazing images: the first real--the hair and make up tests for "To Have and Have Not"; and the second, a clever internet fake of a nude Lauren Bacall.
As readers of this blog know, I've written about Bacall, the most sultry starlet. So you know that Lauren, first Betty, made her huge Hollywood debut at age 24 in "To Have and Have Not" alongside the great Humphrey Bogart, and that the two fell in love, and eventually married, and went on to star in four more films together before his death.
It's a well known fact that young, beautiful aspiring starlets were subjected to Hollywood's infamous "casting couch." Studio executives and casting agents had an almost unfathomable level of unchecked power in those days...
In these two images, it's not hard to imagine that these could be the "test" of young Betty, posing for hair, make up, and then the request for a shot "out of wardrobe," to show her figure. "You do want to be in pictures, right doll?"
It is a sexist, offensive, and almost terrifying thought. I'm ashamed to even think about it. But isn't that the most powerful fuel of fantasy?

We Got Lost--You Can, Too!
If you are reading this blog, I know you like porn! But the Dear Readers of our little Sexy Sex Blog love more than just boobies and butts--you, Dear Reader of good taste, love the intersection of erotica, art, and intelligence. Yep, the mind is the largest erogenous zone on the human body, I believe, and if you've been following us, you agree, too!
That's why I'm happy to take a moment to talk about an upcoming film project by two artists from Copenhagen, Denmark, Sara and Sune.
As you know, Dear Reader, there are NO ads on this website. No links to products--not even a donate button or an Amazon Wishlist. I have never, ever asked for, or received, any financial compensation for this blog. It's a labor of love, and 100% non-commercial.
That said, I'm happy to give a shout out to a very charismatic creative couple who are now--yes RIGHT NOW--trying to raise $$$ to support a new creative work. They have a goal of making "The most beautiful animated erotic film--ever." And if that's not a good enough reason, they want to create a world of characters, love stories, sex, and social commentary.
Sara hand-draws (hand-draws!) each animation cel, the old school way, and Sune composes the muscial score. They've already created a film to show their abilities, and have set out now on what must surely be their largest endeavor, "We Got Lost on the Other Side of the Wilderness."
When I watched their kickstarter video, I just said: Wow, I'm so glad there are people in this world following both their talents and their passions, creating what they believe to be beautiful, to support an ongoing dialog around human sexuality for others to enjoy.
So, Dear Readers, check out their project. If it tickles your fancy, show them some love.

Eva Green
I sort of have a thing for Frenchies. Especially sexy Parisians. Perhaps one of the sexiest contemporary Parisian actresses is Eva Green. She broke onto the film scene in 2003, staring in Bernardo Bertolucci's controversial film, The Dreamers.
Her parents (and even her agent) begged her not to take the role, since it would involve both nudity and explicit sex scenes.
The film didn't kill her career, however. She's gone on to many roles since, including, perhaps most notably, the 2006 Bond film Casino Royal.
And luckily for us, we now have, saved for posterity, a beautiful view of her then 23-year-old body.
Bon appetite.

Playing Wild West With Sasha
When you were a kid, did you ever set up blanket forts inside? I know I did. I loved playing make-believe that I was camping, exploring, or one of my regular pretends: that I was in the Wild West.
I know I'm not alone in this. There's something sweet and innocent, and romantic about setting up a tent inside. And as an adult, a nostalgia for that fleeting moment of childhood. That feeling is captured well in Wes Anderson's masterpiece The Royal Tenenbaums, in the heart breaking scene between Margot and Richie.
Here's a creative recreation and ode to those days of bygone youth, imagination, and innocence, with none other than the girl-you-wish-you-grew-up-with-nextdoor Sasha Grey.

Making A Home XXX Movie
The invention of the digital camcorder. Quite possibly the single most influential invention that has shaped how we see, and even practice sexuality in the last 25 years.
Powerful, affordable, any couple can buy a digital camcorder, charge up the battery, and power it on. That's all that's needed to instantly become a porn starlet and porn director.
Who hasn't made their own DIY porn film?
Some couples flip on the camera simply for fun at the spur of the moment, others put a lot of thought into outfits, lighting, and locations.
Some DIY films are intended only for the eyes of the couple, to be enjoyed in the privacy of their own home. However, with digital technology becoming as simple as shoot and upload, more and more couples are taking that scintillating step into self-distribution. A 21st Century stage where they can transmit their sexy image to millions of anonymous strangers via the internet. They can upload whatever they want, share what they want to share, and know that somewhere in another part of the world someone is seeing them, getting turned on.
Even the shyest--(or perhaps especially the shyest)--get a moment to be a star.
We'd love to hear your stories of the times you've made your own home XXX movie.

The Most Sultry Starlet
Hollywood has given us some sexy starlets over the decades--some glamorous, some sophisticated, some coy and some coquettish... but there is little doubt that the most sultry was Lauren Bacall.
Originally born of Jewish immigrants in the Bronx, Betty Joan Perske would eventually work her way up through modeling gigs and small roles to her breakout aside the great Humphrey Bogart. Who can forget her classic line in "To Have and Have Not," when she tells Bogart that if he wants her, all he has to do is whistle. "Do do know how to whistle?" she asks. "Just put your lips together and blow."
It has become one of the most quoted lines in Hollywood History.
The then 24 year old Bacall and 45 year old Bogart would launch a romance as fiery off screen as on. They would marry and star in four more Hollywood classics before Bogart's death in 1957.
Supposedly, Bacall placed a whistle in Borgats coffin as a memento to the touchstone of their 10-year romance.

Wanna Touch 'em
"This is 40," the new Judd Apatow film is coming out. In it is a breif scene where Lesilie Mann sees Megan Fox in bra and panties, and asks in astonishment: "Are those real?"
Fox anwsers, "Yeah, wanna touch 'em."
Personally, I find Megan Fox as attractive as a Real Doll, but I have to admit that the idea of a 40-year-old mother and wife feeling up a younger woman in a clothing store at the invitation of the younger 20-something is pretty hot.

Porky's Shower Scene
Perhaps one of the most famous peeping scenes in Hollywood history, the girl's gym shower in Porky's (1982). The film is memorable (or forgettable) depending on when you grew up. Supposedly it's the highest-grossing Canadian-produced film behind Resident Evil. But for as solidly mediocre as the acting, dialog, and plot is, the shower scene has no doubt shaped and embodied the adolescent yearnings of a generation. Everyone of my friends knew the scene and had worn out their VCRs watching and rewatching it. Even though the glimpse of nudity is brief--it did show full frontal--and the peeping aspect was every boys' dream.
Rare by today's standard's, when the girls notice that they are being spied on, they think it's funny. The early 80s were certainly a lot more frisky, where sexuality was seen as popular and normal, and not dangerous or shameful. But that's how memory works, pick out the very best and forget the entirety. This scene in the movie is classic, well worth revisiting, unfortunately the rest of the movie isn't.

Survival Island
I just watched "Survival Island." I found myself laughing out loud often. Unfortunately, I don't think the 2006 offering from Showtime was ever meant as a comedy. Granted, no one actually expects much in the way of "plot" or "dialog" in a late-night made-for-tv romance-thriller. The only reason anyone watches such shlock with any intent, is to see a glimpse of boobies. That's right: boobies.
Unfortunately, "Survival Island"also disappoints on this front, too. There is one single moment. This isn't a spoiler...this is my favor to you, saving you 1 hour and 35 of your perfectly good minutes.
So here it is, the one, the only truly fantastic, pause the remote moment in the film.
You're welcome.
PS--If you insist on watching Survival Island (don't say that you weren't warned), gather up your friends and all the liquor in your house. Then play a drinking game where you drink every time there's a continuity error. And there are plenty.

Little Gothy Grows Up: Christina Ricci
Christina Ricci came onto the scene as the gothy (but adorable) Wednesday Addams, from the Addam's Family movies of the early 90s.
She then transitioned from child actor to hottie in movies like Buffalo 66, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Sleepy Hollow. Her first on-camera nude scene was in the 2001 film Prozac Nation.

Home Movie
Just a decade ago, to have even the most minimal movie studio--a place to record, edit, duplicate media was an investment beyond most people's means. Now, he's bought a nice three-chip digital JVC camcorder which records in 1080p. He's bought the wide-angle lens converter to be able to get more in the shot, especially at close up range. He's got the short shotgun mic to pick up the sound wherever the camera is pointed. He's got a Mac G5 tower that he's loaded with Final Cut Pro Studio, so he can edit, and a pair of good speakers. For under $10,000, he has a movie studio set up in his basement. He can shoot, edit, and burn DVDs. He has plans to go into the porn business.
All he need was something to shoot. Obviously, he'd volunteer himself. Talking his girlfriend into being the starlet was the only challenge. And actually, it wasn't a challenge at all.
