Ah, the custom van craze of the 70s.
For better and for worse this trend had passed. As some recall, every "dirtbag and the their uncle" had a custom van complete with air-brushed mural on sides, chrome wheels, all sorts of attachments, and of course, shag carpet and the seat that folded down to a bed for "getting it on." And who can forget the poetry of: "If the vans a'rockin', don't come a'knockin'."
Popular with musicians to haul gear, surfers to haul boards, stoners to have moveable party pads, and creep-os to try to score with chicks. But, with the distance of a couple decades, we can look back on a purely aesthetic level, and laugh, and then say, man, that kinda looks fun.
