RIVER GAME

I have no idea what this group of friends are doing. The girl on the left appears to be handing a twig to the guy. A game of pass the twig? Who knows. The context has been lost to time. Yet, the image remains: a group of friends, young, good looking, nude at the river, sunlight streaming down through the trees. You can almost hear the burble of the creek sliding over the river rock, the smell of the river, thick like summer air. Sun warm on skin, feet tough from walking barefoot.

I wish I could have been one of those lucky folks in this image. Looking at it, I can at least imagine, try to transport myself to that idyllic moment when people are young and beautiful and silly and days are long, warm, and gentle.
