Pin-up Style

Here's something in the tradition of the great pin-up masters like Alberto Vargas and George Petty. The kind of gal the GIs would hang in their bunkers or Fly Boys paint on the nose of their B-17s. The girls that helped win WWII. Although, I wonder if any were quite as bold as this one.

There is no question that the golden age of pin-up was during World War II and Korea. World War II was a time during which almost anything was allowed in an effort to boost morale and unit efficiency. But, as is the case with most things, a free hand led to some excesses and some censorship is evident in some of the artwork.

Art by Hajime Sorayama.
