When I was in high school (pre-internet), sex ed was mostly self taught. A sort of DIY endeavor. We didn't even have the chains of adult stores that they do now. No one that any of us knew used vibrators or toys, but everyone had a story about a candle, a cucumber, or a coke bottle. I think it's great how inventive a girl will be when she finds an object that fits just so.
And not to sound old-fashioned (because I do love the access to erotica and sexual information these days), but there has been something lost. A classic part of a larger picture. We no longer sleep under patch work quilts hand-sticked by great-granmothers; we buy whatever is cheap and easy at WalMart. Porn is like that. And for the most part, it's pretty mindless--uncreative, and plastic. An image like this one below reminds me of a time when access was limited, but imaginations were not.
